Srila Prabhupada, you once wrote to your disciple in New York that when you went out to chant, your intention was not to attract a crowd. Rather, your purpose was to glorify the Supreme Lord. You said, if our chanting is pure, then the Lord will send since souls in our direction.

“I never thought about the audience. I was prepared to chant if there were no men to hear me. The principle of chanting is to glorify the Lord and not to attract a crowd. If Krishna hears nicely then he will ask some sincere devotee to gather in such place. Therefore, be advised that thousands of centers may be started if we find out a sincere soul for each and every center. We do not require more men to start.”

Srila Prabhupada, your words are always instructive and backed by your personal example. Although alone, without friends to support and encourage you, you joyfully went out on Hari Nam in New York’s Tompkins Square Park and many other places. As you sang out the holy names of the Lord benedictions of the Holy Nam were showered upon the most fortunate of the unfortunate. You taught us how to give association with diseased souls without becoming infected.

In America sometimes there is bitter cold; people can be impersonal and frighteningly aggressive. In the beginning no one came forward to assist you, yet undaunted you remained faithful to Sri Guru and Krsna.
With full enthusiasm, confidence and tolerance you followed in the footsteps of the previous acarya’s such as, Srila Bahktisddhanta Goswami, Bhaktivinode and Lord Nityananda. You never asked us to do any thing you were not prepared to do yourself.

On the path back to Godhead we sometimes encounter dark tunnels of doubt and confusion. Your personal example of fidelity and devotion to your spiritual master awakens our trust and guides us forward.

Inspired by your unmotivated glorification of Lord Hari, from every corner of the globe, Krsna continues to send generations of bee like souls, who eagerly lap up the nectarine words in your books that over flow with hope and mercy.

We pray to always be surrounded by your bee like followers.

シュリーラ・プラブパーダ、外で唱えるのは群衆を集めるためではないとニューヨークの弟子に手紙を書かれましたね。むしろ、最高主を讃えるのが目的であったと。純粋に唱えたなら，主は真剣な魂を私たちのもとに送ってくださると。

“人を集めよう等と考えた事もありません。誰も聞いてくれなくても唱えるつもりでした。唱名の原則は，群衆を集める事ではなく，主を讃える事です。もしクリシュナが気持ちよく聞いたなら，真剣な献愛者をそのような場所に行かせるでしょう。ですから、おのおののセンターに一人でも真剣な魂がいれば，何千ものセンターを開く事が出来るでしょう。始めるには多くの人はいらないのです。”

シュリーラ・プラブパーダ，あなたのお言葉はいつも私達のためになり，ご自身の手本を見せてくださいます。一人きりで，励ましてくれる友人もいないのに，ニューヨークのトンプキン・スクエアー・公園や，多くの場所にハリナマに出かけられました。あなたが主の聖名を歌うと，聖名の恩恵は不幸の中にあっても最も幸福な人に注がれるのでした。自分にうつらないように、病に冒された魂とどうつきあったらいいのかを教えてくださいました。

アメリカにはたまに非情なまでの冷たさがあります。人の事をかまわず，恐ろしいまでに攻撃的な人もいます。はじめはあなたを助けようとする人は誰もいませんでしたが、それにもめげず、シュリーグルとクリシュナに忠実でありつずけました。

完全なる熱心さと自信，忍耐を持って，シュリーラ・バークティシッダンタ・ゴースワミ、バークティウ゛ィノーダ、主ニチャーナンダのような前のアチャーリャの足跡をたどりました。自分でしない事を私達にやらせる事もありませんでした。

神の元に戻る途中，疑いや混乱の暗いトンネルに遭遇する事があります。あなたご自身の精神の師への忠誠と献愛の手本によって、私達の信頼は目覚め，前へと導いてくれます。

主ハリーを無欲に讃えるあなたに刺激され，希望と慈悲に満ちあふれたあなたの本にかかれている蜜の様な言葉を喜んでなめる魂の様なミツバチを何世代も、地球上のあらゆる所からクリシュナは，送りつずけてくださいます。

あなたに従うミツバチ達にいつも囲まれていますように。
